If you’ve ever been waxed, lasered, or had electrolysis you already know that good hair removal is painful! But the wonderful news is that now it doesn’t have to be.
At BALD we use nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas, as a light temporary anesthetic during your hair removal. This allows you to relax while the aesthetician focuses on the task at hand.
Whether you wax for sport, comfort, or just to get silky-smooth skin, BALD will get you hair-free where you want to be.
We also offer other medical spa services such as Massages, Botox, Dermaplaning, and facials. Following consultation, we offer Kybellia, Juvaderm fillers, PDO threads, and PRP hair restoration.

Bald is the brainchild of Dr. Falan Mouton. Dr. Falan is a licensed physician anesthesiologist.
She received her bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Rice University and completed medical school and an anesthesia residency at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in New York.
She also trained in pediatric anesthesia at Boston Children’s Hospital, completing her fellowship in 2015.
Dr. Falan is a millennial who is also personally familiar with all forms of hair removal, so she understands how tricky it can be to find effective and comfortable hair removal.
She has tried threading and waxing and cries every time. Through her experiences with anesthesia and waxing she created BALD to finally provide people with pain relief during hair removal.
Upon arrival at Urban Luxury Salons, please check-in at the front desk, and a team member from BALD will escort you from the waiting room to the private waxing room.
There you will have a brief medical interview, an assessment of your vital signs and a simple physical exam. We will also discuss how the anesthetic will be administered, what to expect from the waxing, and any other questions you may have. You will have the opportunity to change out of your clothes into a spa towel, and then we will wax away.
Your appointment will take 15 minutes for the quick medical exam and anesthesia, and 15-30 minutes for each area getting waxed.

BALD is located within the Wheeler Block Building in the Highlands. It is on the first floor, next to Lashology. There is convenient street parking on 29th Ave, and 2 general parking spaces behind the Wheeler building as well.
No. One of the potential side effects of nitrous oxide is nausea, so try to avoid eating for 2 hours before your appointment, if possible.
We request that you do not partake in any intoxicating substances before your appointment. We will provide you with Tylenol and Ibuprofen prior to the application of wax to provide additional pain relief. These might be over the counter drugs, but they are excellent pain killers and all the extra help BALD needs.
Yes! We will wait until you are fully back to normal before sending you home, but this should be very soon after the waxing.
Unfortunately we do not provide any services to pregnant people because Nitrous Oxide is present in trace amounts in the facility. Nitrous Oxide is safe in pregnancy and in fact is used to relieve pain in labor. But because hair removal is an elective procedure, and we want to minimize risk, we do not perform any services on pregnant ladies.
We do not accept tips at BALD because we have included tips in the cost of the service. Our staff is very well compensated, so your service won’t cost you any extra.
