Your BALD wax experience begins with a brief consultation with one of our licensed anesthesiologists.
You’ll start with laughing gas through a handheld dispenser. Once the nitrous starts to take effect, warm wax will be applied to the areas of your body you want hair-free.
As the wax is removed, the hair underneath is fully removed as well, with far less pain than traditional waxing, thanks to our unique approach.

Waxing is superior to shaving and other common forms of hair removal because it removes hair from the root. It is the equivalent of intentionally pulling a weed out of the ground from the roots, versus just quickly cutting the grass.

At BALD, waxing is virtually pain free as we use nitrous oxide to manage the discomfort of hair removal. If you’re looking for a pain free wax experience, you’ve come to the only place that can help.
There are Dos and Donts to prepare for being waxed!
Do come in with at least 1/4 inch growth in the areas of interest, as we will need some hair length for the wax to grip onto. As a general rule, we won’t be able to wax what you also wouldn’t be able to tweeze.
Do avoid harsh chemicals on the skin prior to the appointment such as retinoids, vitamin A, or chemical peels.
Do clean your skin and gently exfoliate prior to your appointment (use a loofa or rough towel, but not a sander). Also, feel free to moisturize!
Do cancel your appointment if you have a rash, sunburn, or infection in the area you are interested in getting waxed.
Do talk to your BALD team about any previous adverse skin reactions or breakouts associated with waxing.
Do wait until after your period if you are getting an intimate area waxed.

We will discuss your skin prior to every appointment. Previous adverse reactions to any kind of hair removal will be reviewed, and a plan will be made that is tailored to your skin type.
People with recent sunburns or those who have been taking retinoids such as Retina A, Accutane, or Vitamin A are discouraged from engaging in waxing and will not be waxed by BALD.
It is generally recommended that you wait at least 24-48 hours before exercising following being waxed, as the skin will be sensitive and certain areas can be prone to skin infection if you sweat too much.
